The nursing home facility was clean and there was no bad odor. When we were there, they were having some entertainment by a local artist and he was fantastic. All the patients seemed like they were happy. The only reason why we didn't consider this one was because my husband didn't want to pursue it.
Then they had a continuing care if you would need it and then they had an Alzheimer's unit. As far as I can tell, the staff was very nice. I had talked to them in some of my visits and I had attended some affairs there and I saw the staff was very pleasant and caring. The dining room is nice and they had great choice and fantastic food. There were lots of good activities, some more mental and some more physical. They had a long bowling range and an indoor swimming pool.

I visited 5 other rehab facilities and was starting to despair. Edgewater was the last on my list of possibles. The residents seemed happy, were dressed and groomed and clean. I was unannounced and was given a tour of the rooms, but was allowed to go where I pleased. The staff gave him personalized therapy and I can't think of a complaint to make about them. They did a great job, and my family is not sorry we chose them.

They did the physical therapy, and part of the physical therapy is sort of a mental test while standing, they have cork boards there, and they have to match up different pictures and things. They had some group therapy, I sat in one session, and it was very good.
